an unconventional beauty

There’s much to love about photography as a form of creative expression but one of my favourite things is the way in which looking through the lens really does give us an opportunity to see beauty where perhaps we’d otherwise not. Capturing an image in a single frame allows us the time to look longer and notice more.

My friend and fellow photographer Mandy Schoene-Salter and I recently took ourselves on a photographic mission to an old, disused hospital in the mountains. It was such a great location and we spent hours wandering in and out of rooms and down the hallways, which were quite spooky in some places!

Here’s my pick of the bunch…

real women…

I’ve been having a lot of fun working with Missy Confidential lately,  photographing all sorts of girls for their Real Women Style Gallery. It’s a very relaxed gig, I have to say and I’m loving meeting the girls and having a sneak peek into their wardrobes. I do however come home and feel slightly depressed when I peer into my own wardrobe which seems to be full of practical, mum stuff. Might be time to go shopping…
